Episode 82 is tonight: "Walk Like a Man."

This week, A.J. struggles with depression. Meanwhile, Kelli's dad is the unwitting catalyst of a new feud between Christopher and Paulie.

Paulie sure is getting his share of attention this season. I wonder if it means he'll be gone by the season's end.

So many loose ends, so few episodes left. Anyone have any predictions or reactions?

    I predict many loose ends left untied and many unfulfilled expectations.

    Why do we need subjects for our comments?  It's a comment for christssake.

    I didn't choose it, but you did just fine.  

    I think you are right about a lot of unresolved issues.

    I also think tonight was the best night of the new season.

    The terrorism angle is bound to come back, and since AJ's car was involved in the kid's torture, I wonder what happens with him.

    I can picture the last episode being at a funeral with the cameras panning on each of them, but I'm not sure whose funeral.  I just hope it's not

    i predict:

    1. the show will end
    2. no contracts will be renewed
    3. everyone dies

    I think that in the end, it might come down to Tony resolving his psychological issues and quitting the mob.  Or, spiraling out of control with his psychologist unable to help.

    I mean, most of the show is based on the relationship between melfey or whatever you spell her name as, and Tony.  Never mind the particulars, like what happens to what character.  David Chase is a big thinker.  This is the one thing that anchors the show.  I'm most interested on if Tony's therapy is succesful or not.  Everything else is periphial to that.

    is the relationship between Tony and Melfey.  Ooooooooooooooooo, is there sexual tension there?  After 5 seasons - who cares?  Reductio ad absurdum.  It is a soap opera mob show.  I want to see bad guys, and sometimes, not so bad guys, do bad things.  And, on the oft occasion, when the moon is right, see bad guys do unusually good things.

    Let 'em loose, imo.

    I have only watched this season, thinking that since the show has become a cultural reference we should know something about it.

    The appaling casualness of the killing, realistic yes, needs to be punished.

    Melfrey gets wacked by Phil becasue of the fear that she knows too much.  Or tony wacks her in a fit of rage, Christopher goes down for his latest murder or gets wacked by paulie or the arab drug smugglers, Aj gets into the business with the old man to replace christopher.

    Anyone notice what Carmela was reading in bed: Fred Barnes' Rebel in Chief: Inside the Bold and Controversial Presidency of George W. Bush. I find Carmela, btw, to be the most offensive character on the show. She has this strong moral sense when it comes to family, but has no problem with enriching her lifestyle off the fruits of Tony's corrupt enterprises.

    I think it will be Paulie that will either flip to the feds or Leotardo.  Paulie is single, estranged from his "mother" and on paper would seem the person lease likely to flip because he has nothing to keep him on the outside (family etc).  One has to wonder if Paulie was afraid of commitment and starting a family because of his lifestyle and therefore did not choose to start a family for those reasons.  Or perhaps Paulie under pressure from the feds comes to the realization that he is angry that he "gave more than anyone" by being married to the mob and with no family to be executed, he can simply take a WP and go to idaho and start a new life.

    Christopher will work through his hatred for Tony because it is a love hate relationship, the only question for me there is whether or not he and Paulie don't kill each other.  My guess is that Christopher cannot make another film, the hollywood types get sick of his persona and he comes home to the family to be a murdering psychopath again.

    Janice knows that her hubby is not strong enough to run the family and if tony goes her lifestyle will change dramatically.  Janice wants her hubby in charge but loves her lifestyle more and she will be a non factor into Tony's demise.  

    The beauty of this show is self destruction and I  think (phil leotardo and paulie notwithstanding) his laziness and carelessness are the factors that will nail him.  

    Carmella is going to have serious problems with her spec house from a legal perspective and Tony will not bail her out of his mess.  

    Leotardo will kill Sil and offer Bobby and Paulie jobs when he takes over.  Christopher will work for Leotardo and spend his life hating Phil more than he hated Tony.

    I love that they are showing the negative side and self implosion, i always felt they skirted around it and am happy to see the emotional toll leading up to the demise as opposed to a rally to the chief prior.
