I feel like I just got a Christmas present. Rudy Giuliani will announce tomorrow he's not going to run for either NY Governor or Senator.

Smart choice, we've had our fill of Rudy, but it's good to hear it from the horse's mouth.

    to win the primary and Cuomo would have beaten Giuiliani. I'm guessing Giuiliani would only run a race he was sure of winning.

    Because in a Q poll a few dyas ago, Gillibrand was trailing Thompsonl but Guiliani was wiping the floor with both of them. Guiliania would beat her 50-40, at this point.

    Gillibrand, particularly in this year, there would have been a number of factors in her favor. The big one is that Giuliani doesn't actually want to be a Senator. He would likely hate that job. He just wants power and so running that campaign, he wouldn't be able to even appear enthusiastic for actually doing the job. She's also a very strong fund raiser.

    announce that he will no longer be appearing as a designated gasbag on any of the TV news talk shows and will refrain from ever commenting on anything even vaguely touching on American politics the world will truly be a better place.

    from the list of contenders in 2008, I can't imagine he could do better 4 years further removed from the days he appeared to be a hero to some. I also doubt he'd want a second round of that humiliation.

    On 9/10 NYC hated Rudy. They were more than willing to run him out of town on a rail.

    After 9/11 he had his moment of fame but the real Rudy and his political record are there for all to see. If he campaigned, people would realize just how bad he was. You can only ride on the coat tails of a disaster for so long.

    He's smart enough to know that his future ( and the money) is as a celebrity not a politician.

    rudy never even considered it. i think he does these sorts of things every 6 months or so just so that he can hear his name on TV.
